PHRF-NB February Meeting

Meeting Called to order 6:45pm by Commodore Nannini
Attendees: Mark Nannini Commodore; Will Museler, Rating Chairman; Roy Guay, Treasurer, Bob Horton, Secretary, Kathy Rotsky, PHRF-NB Administrator, Board members – Ken Madeiro, Todd Johnston, Moose McClintock, Paul Grimes
- Commodore Nannini explained the cost containment established for the annual dinner meeting
- Minutes of the November board meeting seconded and approved.
- A rating appeal has been received on 2018 certificate #13286 a Dufour 36P, Serenity, owner Curt Spalding. Details and formal appeal will be distributed for the March 2019 meeting.
- The 2019 PHRF-NB on-line certificate registration system is available to be accessed for new registrations
- Will Museler distributed and explained options for a non-spinnaker modification formula. Three (3) options were presented, GPH, CR8 and CR12. GPH is the most generous in giving credit to boats with less than a 118% overlap, CR8 does not make any significant difference and CR12 is the middle of the road. This subject is being advanced to be pro-active for the new types of boat that are being built with non-overlapping headsails that are more cruiser than racer. A discussion followed with no decision on the action that we may want to apply. Further review and information will take place next month.
